I had a great stay at this backpackers hostel. the location was perfect, close to all the restaurants on Kloof street and a short distance from the lower cable car. the rooms were comfortable and the bathrooms were kept clean. the staff were friendly and helpful, providing detailed information about the city. the breakfast buffet was delicious and the views from the bar and restaurant were stunning.
The noise at night was quite noticeable, which affected my sleep.

Beautiful building, very comfortable room with basin and nice bed. I really enjoyed being there.
The people who worked at the bar - the woman looked harassed and the man looked busy with something else. The guy at reception explains to everybody you enter the code move# to open the gate "as in predictable text". No wonder everybody battles to get the gate to open.

We got a room for 3 people in the nearby Lodge at Union Street and it was just great: quiet, spacious and lots of privacy.

The staff is always friendly and helpfull (stayed there a few times before as well, so I am sure they are always helpfull and friendly). This lodge is situated close to the city centre, safe area for moving around easily. Public transport is always available just outside the gate. Great to go out for a night in town, walking distance. Should you prefer an evening at the lodge, Kumasi cafe on the top floor is great to chill or meet fellow travellers. The staff are up to date with helping to plan trips to suit any adventure, even outside Cape Town area. To sum it up, very safe, clean, friendly, good transport, great location.

The value for money at this place is fantastic - I stayed in a private room and although it was basic, it was comfortable, clean and had nice bedding. The location is also great, close to shops, restaurants, and the beautiful Company Gardens. But what really makes Ashanti stand out is the staff, who are incredibly helpful, attentive and cheerful. They went above and beyond to assist with anything I needed, from providing detailed city information to helping with arrival and departure logistics. Their friendliness and professionalism made my stay even more enjoyable.
The breakfast could be improved - maybe offering a wider variety of options would be nice.

Its location. Can easily access town centre. The environment is neat. Generally good considering that most of the time large numbers come and go at the same time.
The pegions which sleep on door steps.

The location was great, close to attractions and public transport. The staff was friendly and helpful, providing good service. The free breakfast was a nice touch and the food was decent.
The rooms were cramped and the windows were small and couldn't be opened. The noise from the pool and other guests made it difficult to sleep.

I recently stayed at a backpackers in Cape Town and had a mostly great experience. The location was excellent, close to the city center and popular attractions like Table Mountain and Camps Bay. I found it convenient to use public transport, with the MyCiti buses easily accessible. There was also a supermarket nearby, which was handy.
I had a positive experience at the backpackers and would recommend it to others. However, I would advise future guests to be cautious about the lock issue and possibly consider staying in the guest house for added peace and quiet.
